it's been quite some time since I have had the energy to post something new. It's been a tough fall for Sean and I: there had been loss and pain that we are still working on getting over, but I think we are on the right track.
In the meantime, things continue to move along at a snail's pace in China, but we are getting closer! February is almost through now that they are officially up to February 23rd! Only 26 more Log-in-day to go....
On a scarier note, only 2 weeks until Christmas and we have not yet bought one gift! not that we haven't tried, but it just seems like we can't find what we want. I have NO idea when we are going to get all the shopping done, let alone finish decorating the house and our tree (it has lights but nothing else yet!) Our rabbit doesn't seem to think that it needs any decorations and she is constantly nibbling away at the lower branches. I worry that the whole thing will come down if we don't pay attention! Anyone know if eating pine needles is bad for rabbits? I figure, in the wild they have free access to them... right??? I hope she doesn't get sick...
As we prepare for yet a second dump of snow overnight, I want to wish everyone a wonderful WHITE CHRISTMAS!!!

Time for another update...
So it looks as though they have made it through January 2006, and we are 6 days closer to our date! The Olympics appear to have slowed things down a lot. Let's see what next month brings!?!
In the mean time, we are waiting for the birth of baby boy DeAndrade, at some point in the next week and a half. I started back to work last week (and I'm already exhausted!) Otherwise, things are rather slow on the news front at this time. Hope to have more to report soon...

So Sorry...
For those of you who actually check my blog sometimes, I'm sorry that I've been lazy about posting updates. May and June were CRAZY busy, but now that I am on holiday, I have a little more time. So here goes...
We are about to hear the update for July, which doesn't sound great but for now rumours have the China Centre for Adoption completing files up to January 25th 2006. Still about 2 months of files away from ours...
So, on a happier note, here are some pictures of what we've been up to lately during the wait...
My cousin and his wife came to visit from Swizerland (she is due in Oct. !!)

We spent a fun week-end with friends in Mountainview (USA)!

Went for bunch with our Family!

And just spent time relaxing with friends...

I'll try to be better at updating next month... Have a great JULY
(I know I will, it's my Birthday month!!)

Banff, AB
Well, after some delays in Montreal and some more delays in Calgary, we made it to Banff around 2am!
It was all worth it though, the weather is amazing and even better than the weather is our little niece, what a cutie!!
Molly's got the right spirit, isn't she just adorable!
We are planning to go skiing on Tuesday, then it's off to Kananaskis on Thursday for me. The weather here is simply amazing, and it's supposed to be even nicer tomorrow!
That's it for now... more later,it's time for a nap!

Time to bring a few things up to date...
We recently hit the BIG 2-Year anniversary, unfortunately it was not a HAPPY Anniversary... March 21st 2006 now seems so far away, yet I can remember it as if it was yesterday. A China update is due soon, but we are still probably one year away from going to get our little Emily... A picture at Christmas would be nice!
On a happier note, we have been having lots of fun!
Sean had his birthday last week-end, the big 3-5!
This week-end we went for our annual sugar RUSH, to our favorite sugar shack at Mont St-Gregoire. The weather was absolutely beautiful and the kids had a blast in the snow!
The count-down is on for our visit to Banff! We can't wait to see our little niece Molly. She will already be 5 months old when we finally get to see her in person!

Winter Break
I had to call it winter break, because with all this snow, it sure doesn't make me think of spring. And now the break is over, well, not quite. Mother nature has given us an extra day off with all the snow we got this week-end! Thanks!
It has been a busy and eventfull week. Sean and I went skiing on Sunday (March 2nd) to Sutton. It had just snowed the night before and there was A LOT of powder for use to ski in.
On Tuesday, 5 adults and 8 kids (we were out numbered!!) went to the butterfly show at the Botanical Gardens. I had never been, so I took the opportunity to go check it out. It was very beautiful, but also very crowded!
Then, another first for me was attending Disney on Ice with my 3-year-old Goddaughter. We both had lots of fun!
Finally, we got the March update for China, bringing us up to January 4th, 2006 (YES, 2006!!! We are finally in OUR year!!!) Baby steps, baby step... There is also a web site we go to, in order to get some information and rumours about upcoming referrals. These are only guesses and although they are based on the assumtion that past trends will predict future ones, these remain PURE SPECULATION. So take a look at what the "RUMOUR QUEEN" (as she is appropriately named)is predicting, and then you make up your own mind about how much longer we have to wait from our little ladybug... and just so you are aware, the Horrid case has been prevailing for some time, and is probably expected to continue for some time, but there is always hope!

Well, it's back to the "real" world tomorrow... It's been a really great week (+1 day) off!!

February UPDATE and HAPPY NEW YEAR's eve!!!!
Well, it's update time again. I never thought I would be excited to say that we have moved 8 days closer to being "next", but with recent 2- and 5-day batches, 8 days seem like a big leap!! Officially less than 3 months of LIDs to go, and in there was Chinese New Year, so that's another week down. Dare I say 2 1/2 months of LIDs?!?!?!
I'm seriouly going to have to start cleaning up Emily's room. We had decided to use it as a dumping ground, covering up all the kiddy stuff made me feel better. But, I fear, this is going to creap up on us in no time... A start to some de-cluttering might be in order?!?!
HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE Emily, where ever you are. Hope the year of the RAT will be a good one for you!! Mom and Dad will be thinking of you tonight!

Well, look at that! It's already the 24th! Our 22nd anniversary came and went without much notice (no noise makers, no ballons, no boxes, no ribbons, no bows, no fandanglers... well, you get the point), nothing but a small sad face in my agenda beside which I had written 22 months wait today! Will this madness ever end?? Rumors are flying hard and fast right now, so let's see where things settle in the next week or 2!
On a happier note, Sean and I are looking forward to visiting our little niece (you've seen her below in a previous post.) We booked our tickets and can't wait to spend some time with her in April (she will already be 5 months old when we see her!!)
Tomorrow is Friday, and I hope the week-end will offer us some rest!

Sean and I had a GREAT Christmas, I guess we were both very nice this year because Santa was quite generous!
On the 26th we even managed to hit the slopes, something we had not done in quite some time... and both realised how much we missed! ** Sean was there, he just happened to be the photographer for both these pictures.

For all who actually read our blog and have been waiting for an update, I appologize! November flew by, and I can't believe that we are almost half way through December!!!
The update from China was once again quite depressing, but when you are not expecting much, it's not as bad.
They moved up to December 14th. Still more than 3 months of referrals to go, and at this rate (6 days/month : Dec. 8th > Dec. 14th) we should go to China in ... Oh, I'm too tired to even calculate.
On a happy note, our neice was born in November. The 13th to be exact.
Molly MacIsaac

I'll have to talk to them about composition and lighting, but what a cut little girl!!! I can't wait to see her!!

Halloween and more...
We had a great time this Hallowe'en. The weather was comfortable, although the wind was a little brisk. Our four-legged friends also gave us some entertainment!

Sean got his usual thrill by scaring all the little kiddies with his costume.

I just enjoyed watching all the cute little kids with their cute little costumes. It really was a nice night!

Then, there's the CHINA update... Not as pleasant!
They apparently only made it 8 days to December 8th 2005. Still 103 dates to go until they get to ours. Maybe Christams 2008???

Grab a kleenex...
As I was reading some of the BLOGs today of families who have received their angels, I came across a poem, and one of the lines read as follows:
Though I did not give you the gift of life, life gave me the gift of you.
Though I did not give you the gift of life, life gave me the gift of you.

October Update
Well, it's that time again. The Chinese have been off for the past week (some national celebration) so the official update was only received today. They have now finished November, the dreaded "MONSTER" month. December looks to be quite small, let's hope they get through it rather fast. We are still a long way from holding Emily in our arms, and some days it really seems like it will NEVER happen.
In the meantime, hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving, and that people are not too stuffed!! Sean made an awesome Rib Roast, sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes, homemade potatoe bread, potage de bonne femme... I am definitely stuffed!

keepin' busy...
And then there were 18... months that is, behind us on our wait! At least the weather is cooperating so we can actually have some fun while we wait!
The gang at Mountainview, pretending to be the flames of the fire we couldn't have because it rained over night and all the wood was wet! Ha Ha! Sean, it was flames, not jazz hands...
Having friends and family over for dinner works as well!!

Harry Potter
Yes, Sean and I are Harry Potter fans. I'm happy just seeing the movies while Sean has - obviously - read ALL the books; however, after seeing this last one (which if you haven't yet, try to catch it in 3D) I may actually want to read the story to get some of the details that may have been lost in the production of the movie. IT WAS AWESOME!!! I highly recommend it, although if you haven't seen the first 4, you will obviously need to begin there.

Long Week-end update...
The long week-end is almost over, but today is supposed to be the nicest day, so I am looking forward to it! Yesterday, Jackie and Patrick, and the kids, came over for some pool fun (the water was too cold) and a BBQ - Sean made his new favorite thing on the BBQ, smoked ribs).
Then I got up this morning to find an update from China. Although some early rumours had our hopes up that they would get into December, the official word today is that they are at November 25th 2005. 4 days this past month...what can I say?
